(Hampton Court, River Boat)

Monday, June 25

Today is our last full day in London and we went to the Hampton Court Palace in southwest London. It took about an hour to get there, and the return ticket was 14.7 gbp.

Trying to describe the history of these Royal Palaces is too much, and you can find much more detailed information on the Internet. But to put it simply, this palace was built in 1515, and in 1529 King Henry VIII moved in and began to expand the palace. Later, King William III also lived here and carried out large-scale renovations. So the architectural style here is a combination of medieval architecture and Baroque architectural style. The palace of William III opened up more intimate spaces such as the palace reception room  and it was interesting to see where the king once slept, worked, and relaxed.

- Walking toward the palace, PJG had a picture of him as a child. He was also photographed from this same angle.

– Look carefully at the decorative chimneys from the medieval times. There are many tricks. The sign of the rich, as poor people wouldn’t have the economical means to install such decorative chimneys.
The hall was used to hold important ceremonies. Notice the hammer-beam roof. (I’m not sure how they were constructed 😅)
The Great Watching Chamber in the palace of Henry VIII (I think it’s called the bodyguard waiting room if you have to translate it? haha), this is where the royal guardian guards waited and protected the Royal Family.

There is a maze at Hampton Court.  It seems that both of us soon walked out of the maze. I doubt the memory of him when he was a child helped him, haha.

At the center of the Maze, success!

We have actually arrived in Paris now. I have just completed my final exam for one class at the AirBnB. PJG and I are now sitting in a restaurant/cafe very close to home and I sit here to watch the crowd. Oh my God! I am now in Paris.😍😍😍

Feel no mood to continue writing yesterday’s blog, haha, I’ll conclude it briefly. From the Hampton Court back to the city of London, a sightseeing boat using our sightseeing card allowed us the pleasure of the scenery on both sides of the Thames.

There are many other scenes on the cruise ship, but I’m in no mood to blog it today, just want to sit here and enjoy the afternoon in Paris 😀
