Finally finished my final exams and now I can concentrate on our two month European trip. The trip is originated as a bet when I first came to America seven years ago.
美国社会文化价值观了解的匮乏， 我开始了我的重新接受教育之旅。 从价格平易近人的社区大学开始，希望至少能够提高自己的英文水品。第一个学期的三个课上完后，我竟然全部拿了A。 胖金哥便说，“如果你下学期再拿A，我就带你去法国。”
I was in my thirties when I just migrated here. Because of my low level of English, the lack of social skills, the different ways of thinking, and the lack of understanding of social and cultural values in the United States, I began my journey towards a new education. Starting with an affordable community college, I had hoped to be able to at least improve my English skills. After I finished the first quarter of my first three classes with all A’s, PJG said, “If you get an “A” next semester, I’ll take you to France.”
其实他的这句话并没有那么激励我，一转眼6年过去了，还有一个学期就会计本科毕业的我，目前上的所有44个课都是A。
His encouragement was not actually that inspiring to me, but yet, in a blink of an eye, six years later, with one semester to go for getting my accounting degree, I have earned A’s for all 44 classes I have taken so far.
昨天晚上，我问胖金哥，“我们这次去几个城市？”
Last night, I asked PJG, “How many cities will we go to on this trip?”
他数了一下，“23个吧。”
He counted and replied, ” 23.”
“我目前拿了44个A，所以你还欠我21个城市。”
” I got 44 A’s, so you still owe me 21 cities.”
“哈哈哈哈哈…” Hahahahaha
这次的旅游都是胖金哥一手准备的，我每天忙着上课打工，基本没有帮到他。他9个月前开始计划行程路线，机票，火车票，租车，预订每个城市的Airbnb，知名景点门票预订等等，点点滴滴都是他精心的策划。我真是诚心的感激并感受到了他满满的爱。他说，“这次的旅游意义很大，一个是还你我欠你的法国，一个是庆祝你的四十岁。”
PJG planned and prepared for this trip completely on his own. I was busy with school work and dealing with my part time jobs, so basically did not help him at all. He began planning the itinerary nine months ago; air tickets, train tickets, car rentals, booking each city’s Airbnb, tickets for well-known attractions, and so on. Bit by bit he continued his meticulous planning. I am truly grateful and feeling his love for me. He said, “This trip is very significant, one is to pay the bet I owe you, France, and the other is to celebrate you turning 40 years old!”
想起十多年前我俩第一次去丽江旅游的时候，我的世界被打开了一扇小窗，胖金哥也是从那时开始得到了这个名字。丽江当地的年轻小伙和姑娘们互叫胖金哥和胖金妹，我俩也从此叫了彼此十多年。我对这次的欧洲行充满了期待，要去那么多从来没有去过的城市真的是心潮澎湃，世界那么大，我也终于在四十岁的时候可以去看看了。
Remembering the first time we traveled to Lijiang, China more than 10 years ago, my world was opened with a small window; and also in there PJG got this nick name. In Lijiang, local young boys and girls call each other Fat Gold Brother and Fat Gold Sister, or Pang Jin Ge and Pang Jin Mei in Chinese. We have been calling each other these nick names ever since. I am in full of expectation for this European trip – going to so many cities that I have never been to. The world is so big, and finally at 40 years old, I can finally go to see it.
