早上准备第一站去萨尔茨堡的温特山，我俩的萨尔茨堡卡包含了坐上山缆车的票。查了一下地图，坐公交要1个多小时到达坐缆车的地方，开车却只需要20分钟，我俩就决定开车过去，更好的是停车居然免费的。
Friday, July 27
In the morning, we prepared for our first excursion going up to the top of the Mountain in Salzburg. Our Salzburg Card contains tickets for the cable car. After checking the map we found that it takes more than an hour to get to the cable car by public transportation. On the other hand, it was only 20 minutes to drive – so we decided to drive, and even better, the parking was free.
坐上缆车5，6分钟就到了山顶，温特山没有前天我俩去的因斯布鲁克的山高，只有海拔1973米，山顶的景色也非常不同，这里的山顶还有大面积的绿色植被，而且俯瞰萨尔茨堡城的北面没有被群山环绕，是一片山谷。下了缆车，还要再爬山到达山顶，我的穿着实在不像是爬山的，估计很多人看到我都在笑话这我典型的游客形象，事实上PJG就一直在笑话我，包括跟我打扮接近的一些亚洲人 😂😂😂
It took only 5 or 6 minutes for the cable car to get to the top of the mountain. The Mountain is not as high as the mountains in Innsbruck that we were at the other day – this mountain is only 6470 feet above sea level. The scenery on the top of the mountain is very different. There is a large area of green vegetation on the top of the mountain. Surrounded by mountains, overlooking the northern part of the Salzburg valley. After getting off the cable car, we had to climb the final part of the mountain to reach the top. I didn’t really dress for climbing a mountain. I am sure many people were laughing at me as a typical tourist. In fact, PJG has been laughing at me, and he asked, why do all asians dress up to go hiking up a mountain? 😂😂😂
到了山顶景色也是真美，开阔的视野，清新的空气，大自然的美一览无余。
It was really beautiful at the top of the mountain, the wide open view, the fresh air and the unobstructed views of the beauty of nature.
下山后，我俩去了一个附近的啤酒厂-Kaltenhausen，开车有5分钟车程。这里是萨尔茨堡最古老的酿酒厂，开始于1475年。我俩来这里的原因是PJG父亲的下面的这张照片，照片上他父亲和朋友在萨尔茨堡的某个地方喝啤酒，地点实在难以辨认，但是在来到萨尔茨堡经过这里的人的指点，桌子上的啤酒瓶子的啤酒牌子被辨认出来了，就是Kaltenhausen的自酿啤酒。所以我里觉得没准他父亲和朋友就是在那里拍的这张照片。可惜，到了那个啤酒厂后，没有找到和照片相似的地点。那里的一个服务员虽然很友好地回答我俩的问题，可是她也不能确认照片上就是这里。遗憾啊～～～
After coming down the mountain, we decided to visit a nearby brewery, Kaltenhausen, which was only 5-minutes away. This is the oldest brewery in Salzburg, founded in 1475. The reason we came here is to investigate the photo below taken by PJG’s father. The photo shows his father and friends drinking beer somewhere in Salzburg. The location is really very hard to figure out, but after coming to Salzburg, we heard that it might be at this location. We had dinner the other night and showed the photo to our waiter who identified the brand of beer on the on the table was Kaltenhausen’s. In those days, most breweries would sell their own beer at their pubs. So it seemed that his father and friends were taking this picture there. Unfortunately, after arriving at the brewery and looking around, we could find no place similar to that in the photo. Although we spoke to a waiter there who answered our questions and was very friendly, she could not confirm that the photos were taken here. Sorry~~~
离开啤酒厂，我俩去了海尔布伦宫，开车从啤酒厂大概13分钟就到了。整个海尔布伦宫建于1613到1619年，大到包括一个大花园，一个动物园，以及一个宫殿，很多精心设计的喷泉等。这里是为萨尔茨堡的大主教马尔库斯·西提库斯而建，用于大主教夏季白日休憩游玩和宴客的地方，晚上大主教并不住在这里，所以这里没有卧房。海尔布伦宫最吸引人的地方就是它的机关喷泉。
说起机关喷泉，我俩去参观的时候还真的不知道还有一个导游会带我们游览这些400多年前就设计建造的喷泉。导游带着我们走到庄园内最核心的方桌（ Royal Table） 喷泉处，大家在周围的阶级上坐下来，有些人选择了坐在方桌周围的几个石凳上，导游开始用两三种语言给我们讲解喷泉的一些历史，然后告诉那些坐在方桌周围的人，要遵守以前大主教的规则，一旦坐下，大主教没有允许的情况下，客人是不可以站起来的，接下来他要打开喷泉机关向我们示范喷裙，忽然，喷泉从方桌周围各个方向喷出，有人坐着的石凳中心也喷出了泉水，当然这是在他们都站起来后才看出来的，坐在方桌周围的人全部被淋湿，哈哈 😄
After leaving the brewery, we went to Hellbrunn Palace about 15 minutes from the brewery. Hellbrunn Palace was built between 1613 and 1619 and contains a large garden, a zoo, and a palace with many well-designed fountains. It was built for the Archbishop of Salzburg, Marcus Sitikus, for the Archbishop’s summertime recreation and banquet. The Archbishop did not live there at night, so there was no bedroom. The most attractive part of Hellbrunn Palace are the tricks fountains.
Speaking of the fountain, when we went to visit, we really didn’t know that there would be a tour guide who would take us to visit the fountains that were designed and built more than 400 years ago. The tour guide first took us to the Royal Table where the archbishop would entertain guests. Everyone sat down on the surrounding area and some people chose to sit on the several stone benches around the square table. The tour guide spoke in two or three languages and told us some history of the fountain, and then told those sitting around the square table to follow the rules of the former Archbishop. The Archbishop told the guest that they can not stand up until he does. The tour guide then used his special key to open the fountain. Suddenly, the fountain began spouting water from all directions around the square table. From a hole in the center of the stone bench where the guests were sitting was also spewing spring water. Of course, it was only after the guests sitting around the square table had stood up that we could see they were all wet, haha 😄
喷泉的水来自于庄园附近的泉水，干净的可以饮用，整个机关喷泉的设计采用水的不同压力来驱动，游览的一路，有神秘的石窟, 水制动的人物小雕塑，雕塑，各种隐藏的水射流被机关控制。我们的导游会不时的给我们惊喜，在讲解的时候，忽然打开机关，不知道哪里就会射出泉水。大主教在400多年前就这样招待他的客人，今天的我们竟然还可以有一摸一样的体验。
The clean and drinkable water for the fountains comes from an ancient spring near the manor. The design of the fountain uses water pressure to drive many of the sculptures found through out the tour. There are mysterious grottoes, small sculptures using water for animation, and various hidden jets ready to spray unsuspecting victims. The water jets are controlled by the tour guide and he would surprise us from time to time with sprays of water from unseen fountain jets. The Archbishop hosted his guests more than 400 years ago, and today we can still have the same experience as he gave his guests, and gave my father in 1949.
PJG的父亲当年也拍了一张照片，PJG本以为是在木偶剧院拍的，直到昨天他才发现照片里的木偶们其实是在这个机关喷泉里。今天，进到了实物，看起来比照片上壮观多了。
PJG’s father also took a photo that year. PJG thought it was taken at the puppet theater. Until yesterday, he discovered that the puppets in the photo were actually in the fountain of this place. Today, we experienced the real thing and it looks more spectacular than in the photo.
下面照片里的是最后一道机关，我们进到一个石窟里后，导游讲解完那个漂浮的皇冠后，告诉我们可以离开了，然后泉水从两侧的地面突然射出，几乎每个人都被淋湿了，当你走出那道喷水过道以为没事了后，停下来感叹，突然对面的地面又突然袭击射出泉水，😄哈哈 每个人大人或小孩都开心地哈哈大笑 😄😄
In the photo below, was the last part of the tour. After we entered the cave, where the tour guide explained the floating crown and he said we could leave. Then as we walked out, the spring water suddenly shot from the ground on both sides making an arch to walk under, although almost everyone got wet. When you walked out of the sprinkler passage and thought it was okay, you would stop and sigh, and then suddenly from the ground on the opposite side the water attacked again! Hahaha everyone both adults and children happily laughed 😄😄
多么有趣的机关喷泉，没想到大主教这么有童心，相信400多年前他的客人们和今天的我们都在他的庄园里过的非常愉快，享受了这种独特的体验和好久没有的儿时游乐的惊喜。
What a fun fountain, I didn’t expect that an Archbishop could be so childlike. I believe that his guests and today’s guests have been very happy in his manor more than 400 years ago, enjoying this unique experience and long-lost childhood play. Surprise.
