集市,午餐和晚餐 – Market Square, Lunch and Dinner

从芬兰城堡回来,刚好停靠在集市港口,看到了具有赫尔辛基代表性的照片。

Back from Suomenlinna, we just docked at the market square and saw this iconic scene of Helsinki as we arrived into the harbor.

集市上很多都是卖给游客的旅游纪念品之类的东西,我和胖金哥并不感兴趣。还有很多卖新鲜水果的摊位,樱桃看起来很诱人😍

Many of the street vendors are souvenirs for tourists (a lot of cruise ships come here) in which we are not interested. There are also lots of fresh fruit stalls, and the cherries look fresh and yummy.😍

去老市场里转了一圈,里面有各种卖熟食,芝士和三文治等的小摊。

The Old Market Hall located by the pier was built in 1889, selling local and organic products.

注意: 除了鹿肉的,还有熊肉罐头!!! Note: In addition to reindeer meat, there is canned bear meat!!!

午餐- 梅林四川饭店 – Lunch – Mei Lin Sichuan Restaurant

计划旅行的时候,我和胖金哥就约定好了每到一个城市,都要去吃一顿中餐,比较一下口味的变化。今天中午去了这家四川饭店,总体来说味道很好,和国内的味道比较接近。老板娘是安徽人,她自豪的说她们坚持保持正宗的川菜味道。和老板的儿子聊了一会儿天,从他那里了解到如果申请做公民,他必须在29岁前至少服兵役半年,所以他刚服完兵役回来,马上就要去上大学,他说这里的大学是免费的!

When we were planning the trip, PJG and I agreed to try a Chinese meal at least once in every city to compare the changes in flavors. We went to this Sichuan restaurant today for lunch. The flavor is pretty authentic and the owner who is from Anhui proudly claims that they insist on keeping authentic Sichuan flavor. Chatting with the owner’s son for a while, I learned when someone becomes a citizen, they must do military service for at least six months before the age of 29, so he had just came back from the military service. He will go to college soon and he said the university is free! (and he complained about the high taxes 🙂

辣子鸡- 胖金哥每次都喜欢点这个,味道还比较正宗,用的是带骨头的半身鸡肉,不像在美国只用鸡翅。不过这里放了芹菜!(La Zi Ji) Spicy Chicken – PJG always like to order this dish. The taste here was pretty good and they used the whole chicken with bones, unlike in the US restaurants that use only the chicken wings. Interestingly they added the celery!
鱼香茄子 16.9 欧元 -很好吃,有猪肉丝。(Yu Xiang Rou Si) Fish flavored eggplant- Delicious! And there is shredded pork in the dish as well.

晚餐-Dinner at Ravintola Salve

晚餐一定要尝试一下芬兰菜。胖金哥google到这个饭店。在Google和yelp上的评价都不错,在这里看起来用Yelp的人比Google的少,因为yelp上面的评价要少。刚一进门被前台一个漂亮的小姐惊艳到😍。顺便说一下,这里的美女好多哦,她们的脸都很漂亮,皮肤很白,肤质很好,真的是羡慕嫉妒恨啊! 这个饭店的环境很放松,不是那种特别要装格调的地方,顾客里看起来有游客也有很多当地人。

We were determined to try Finnish food for dinner. PJG googled and found this restaurant that had good ratings on both Google and Yelp. In Helsinki, there seem to be fewer people using Yelp than Google because Yelp has less ratings.  We were welcomed by a beautiful girl at the front desk . By the way, there are a lot of beautiful women here.  The restaurant’s environment is very relaxing and the customers seem to be made up of visitors and locals.

拿到菜单,拿起我的Google翻译软件,只用照相机镜头对准芬兰语就会显示英语,我正兴高采烈地看着实时翻译的菜单,忽然发现她们有英文菜单 😅

蓝芝士和大蒜蜗牛, 蓝芝士应该是最臭的芝士之一了吧,我真的是不能吃这个。 蜗牛的味道还不错,很软嫩,面包很酥脆,沾黄油吃非常醇香。Blue cheese and garlic Escargot – blue cheese is one of the most smelliest cheese, I really can not eat this. The taste of the snail is good, very soft and tender, and the bread was very crisp.
我的菜: 酥炸鲱鱼和土豆泥。 这个好像是最受欢迎的一道菜,不过真的没那么惊艳。如果鲱鱼没有放到土豆泥上,会保持更好的酥脆的口感。土豆泥很好吃。My dish: crispy fried herring and mashed potatoes. This seems to be the most popular dish, but it’s not that stunning. If the herring is not put on muddy potatoes, it would keep a better crispy taste. But, the mashed potatoes were delicious.

胖金哥的菜:鹿肉配土豆泥和蔓越梅。我说过了吧鹿肉是这里的特色,胖金哥竟然同意尝试!所以我也尝试了一下,真的很膻~~~

这里的稅比美国要高很多,饭店的餐费的稅14%,酒的稅24%

Taxes are much higher here than in the United States, 14% for meals and 24% for the alcohol.

感觉这里的菜品更注重保持食材原本的味道,厨师的设计是通过不同食物的本味碰撞出奇妙味道的火花。比如一口咬下去,一点鹿肉,一些土豆泥,再加一粒蔓越梅,会碰撞出什么美妙的味道呢?

I feel that the dishes here are more focused on keeping the original taste of the ingredients, and the chef’s design is a spark of wonderful taste that is struck by the taste of different foods. For example, bite down, a little venison, some mashed potatoes, plus a grain of cranberry, will collide with what wonderful taste?
