吃在马德里(Eating in Madrid) – Our Trips Around The World

我俩现在已经结束了2个多月的旅行到家了，总结一下在马德里的吃货感受吧。我在其他一个记录中提及过西班牙的小菜塔帕斯，PJG非常期待到了马德里后可以尝试不同的塔帕斯，可惜让人失望的是，我俩根本没有找到理想中的塔帕斯，要么就是很单调的火腿拼盘之类的，要么就是不好吃，和我俩在温哥华吃过的塔帕斯相距甚远，失望啊～～～ 😁😁

西班牙人吃饭还真晚，很多饭店午饭时间下午1点开门，晚饭8点或9点才开门。

塔帕斯

这是一个市场，里面都是小摊位卖塔帕斯之类的小菜，大部分都是海鲜类的，因为我俩要去对面的川菜吃午饭，所以我只尝了两个，看着挺有模样的，但是其实没什么味道。

We have now finished The Big Trip and are safely back at home, so I’m summing up the experience with food in Madrid. I mentioned looking forward to trying Spanish tapas in another post. PJG was very much looking forward to trying different tapas in Madrid, but unfortunately, we didn’t find the ideal tapas at all. We found either a monotonous ham platter or small plates of food that was not good. It’s a far cry from the Tapas we have eaten in Vancouver. Very disappointing~~~ 😁😁

People in Spain generally eat very late. Many restaurants open at 1pm for lunch and often at 8 or 9pm for dinner.

Tapas

When we first arrived in Madrid we found the huge Mercado of San Miguel market with many small stalls selling tapas and other dishes, most of them being seafood. I only tasted two dishes because we had already planned to try the Sichuan restaurant across the street. The dishes I tried looked very good but they definitely don’t taste as good as they looked.

西班牙菜／塔帕斯

我俩在这个饭店点了两个塔帕斯吧，本来是想多尝试几个的，不过被先试着点的两道非常简单的菜给打败了，没再多吃，就走了

Spanish / Tapas

The Cabreira is just off the Plaza Dos de Mayo. We ordered two Tapas at this restaurant and had planned to try a few more, but after the first very simple dishes arrived we changed our minds and left.

薯条，我从来都不相信土豆会被做的难吃，但是这个薯条做到了，上面的绿色的酱应该是主料是罗勒叶做的香蒜酱，但是这个酱的味道非常怪，还有些苦，总之我俩都觉得是我俩吃过的最难的薯条了 French fries, I never believed you can screw up french fries. The green sauce on the top was a pesto made from basil leaves, but the sauce tasted very strange; a little bitter. In short, both of us feel that these were the most difficult fries we have ever had to eat.

这个是炸茄子条，上面撒的蜂蜜，😄😂 茄子条本身一点儿味道也没有，配上甜甜的蜂蜜，真的很～难～吃～ 😄😂 The next one was fried eggplant strips with honey sprinkled on it. The eggplant itself has no taste, just the sweet honey taste … really ~ difficult ~ to ~ eat ~ 😄😂

西班牙菜

在吃完了上面写到的难吃的薯条和炸茄子条后，我俩不得不去寻找另一个地方解决晚饭，走啊走，也没有什么好的选择，就进了这家，点了著名的西班牙海鲜炖饭。还好，味道还可以，不过里面的海鲜就不怎么新鲜了。

Spanish Dishes

After eating the unpalatable French fries and fried eggplant strips from the place above, we had to find another place to have dinner. So we looked and looked and there was no obviously good choice. We finally settled on this place and ordered the famous Spanish seafood paella. Fortunately, the taste was not bad, but as always the seafood was not very fresh.

忘了拍饭店的门面了，所以只有里面的照片，那个服务员好像正盯着我的镜头 I forgot to take a picture of the front of the restaurant. So we only have photos from the inside … the waiter seems to be staring at my camera.

snapseed-1258 — 免费的小菜，别以为那是豆腐！那时芝士。 Free side dishes. Nope that is NOT tofu! Cubes of cheese instead.

一大锅海鲜炖饭，米饭做的有些生，所以米粒吃起来很硬 Paella – A large pot of seafood stewed in rice. The rice was not cooked thoroughly so it was a little hard to eat.

亚洲菜

在对西班牙塔帕斯失去了兴趣后，PJG提议去这个亚洲菜饭店吃午饭，因为他直到如果吃亚洲菜，就听不到我的抱怨啦，😄😄 这个饭店有好几家分店，我还是很期待的，他们自称亚洲街头小吃饭店。结果～～～味道还好，但是属于那种创新菜的感觉，所以也没什么值得惊艳的。

Asian cuisine

After losing interest in Spanish tapas, PJG proposed to go to this Asian restaurant for dinner, so he would not have to listen to my complaints. This restaurant has several branches in Madrid. They call themselves Asian street food and I was really looking forward to it. In the end, the taste was just ok, however it was innovative but there was nothing really note worthy either.

泰式猪肉串，没感觉有什么泰国菜的口味，就是普通的猪肉串 Thai pork skewers, not really the taste of Thai food, just ordinary pork skewers.

我的泰式炒鸡肉，下面的米饭和鸡肉蔬菜都被那个鸡蛋给盖住了。这个菜超级甜！甜到非常不好吃 My Thai fried chicken, the rice and chicken and vegetables were covered by the egg. This dish is super sweet! Not sure it was supposed to be that sweet!

PJG的咖喱鸡，这个比我那个好吃些 PJG’s curry chicken, this dish was much better than mine.

塔帕斯

在马德里的最后一个晚餐，也是我俩这次旅行的最后一餐。PJG在Tripadvisor上找到这个评价还不错的地方，离我俩步行15分钟左右。PJG通过Tripadvisor预订的座位，还有打5折的优惠，😄 总体来说还好吧，没什么特别好吃的，也没什么特别难吃的。

Tapas

The last dinner in Madrid was also the last meal of our Big Trip. PJG found a review on the Tripadvisor that sounded good and was only about 15 minutes walk from us. He booked a table through Tripadvisor and it came with a 50% discount. Overall, it was okay, nothing special and nothing particularly bad. But we enjoyed the meal and the environment.
