Someone complained that the blogs are too long, so I will write today’s in two parts.
When we woke up in the morning, it was sunny outside, and we started our trek to Monaco as planned. It was very convenient to get there. There are direct buses and trains. The trains run every half an hour, and each ticket costs 4.2 euros and the journey takes about 30 minutes. I have never paid much attention to this country before, and so I googled it before going to find that Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, only about 2.1 square kilometers, not even as big as Central Park in New York! The number one smallest country is the Vatican which we visited in 2018. Monaco is surrounded by France on three sides and on the south by the Mediterranean Sea. The country’s main income is from the famous Monte Carlo Casino and tourism. The annual Formula One Monaco Grand Prix is also held here. I also saw someone say that some of the real estate is the most expensive in the world, about 1.68 million USD per square meter! Of course, it should also be pointed out that Monaco does not have any personal income tax, so it is known as a tax haven.
After walking around in Monaco for more than an hour, we experienced many of the hillsides. We quickly grew tired of Monaco and we had a lost interest in continuing to look around. After lunch, we took the train to a small town next to Nice. The town translates to Coastal Liberty City (but the name is Villefranche Sur-Mer), which will be detailed next.
Thanks Jie jie for your comments! We both look forward to your comments every day!
Your blog isn’t too long! I like reading about your adventures. In the sky mirror sculpture I see you are standing together in the shadow of the palm tree on the left.
