去马耳他 Heading to Malta

马耳他？世界上第十小的国家？从来没听说过! PJG选了马耳他作为目的地之一以后，我在油管上看了很多关于这个国家旅游的视频，发现马耳他还真是一个特别的地方，有三处世界文化遗产，其中一个整个首都被列为世界文化遗产，那里的建筑很有特色；我俩喜欢看的权利的游戏也曾在那里取景，真的很期待！

Malta? The tenth smallest country in the world? Never heard of it!

After PJG chose Malta as one of the destinations I watched a lot of videos about the country on YouTube and found that Malta was really a special place. There are three world heritage sites, one of which is the entire capital, Valletta. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and the architecture there is very distinctive; the game of thrones that we both like to watch was also filmed there – I am really looking forward to seeing it!

下午4点的飞机去马耳他，上午收拾完毕把行李存在地下室的储存柜，我俩又在周围散步了一圈，算是锻炼身体了，又去了那家小饭馆吃了午餐。

Our flight from Athens was at 4 pm. After packing up in the morning, we stored our luggage in the very convenient storage lockers in the basement. We took a walk around again to exercise and then went to the hole-in-the-wall for lunch again.

一个多小时的飞机很快就到了马耳他，没想到的是这么短的飞行，航空公司竟然准备了食物和饮品！太意外了。 下了飞机没有海关要过，不能在护照上留下马耳他的印章了。我说要坐大巴去酒店，PJG决定坐出租！真是反常的决定！机场的出租车还真是安排的井然有序，墙上挂着明码标价的牌子，去哪个区域多少钱，可能因为这个国家太小了，到我俩的酒店需要20欧元，还算合理。一个工作人员安排司机，收钱，站在旁边的出租车司机，收到活后带乘客去他的车，还真是很方便，也不担心被宰。

It took less than a two hours for the plane to reach Malta. But these days, what I didn’t expect, was the airline serving food and drinks! Because Malta is part of the EU, we didn’t have to go through customs, but also it meant no Malta stamp in my passport! I said we should take the bus to the hotel, but PJG insisted we take a taxi! What an unusual decision from him! The taxis at the airport are really well-organized. There are signs on the wall with clearly marked prices, and how much is it to go to various places. Because the country is so small, it was only 20 euros to get to our hotel – which was very reasonable. The taxi counter staff arranges the driver, collects the money, and the taxi driver waiting there takes the passengers to his car after receiving the job. It was really convenient, and no need to worry about being ripped off.

在马耳他的酒店在St. Julian区，没有选择住在首都瓦莱塔是因为这个酒店是免费的，哈哈，PJG又用了他这么多年积攒的积分，说实话这真是他这么多年辛苦工作的回报，要是凭我，我一辈子也不会舍得自己掏腰包住这么豪华的酒店，真是要谢谢他。酒店就在地中海边，又是面朝大海的景色。傍晚6-8点，会员还有免费的饮料酒水和小吃，哈哈，太完美了。

The hotel in Malta is in the St. Julian district. We didn’t stay in Valletta, the capital, because this hotel here was free. Haha, PJG has used some points he has accumulated over the years. To be honest, this is really the reward of his hard work for so many years. If it were me, I would never be willing to pay for such a luxurious hotel in my whole life. I really want to thank him (you’re welcome). The hotel is right on the Mediterranean and our room faces the sea. From 6-8pm in the evening, members also get free drinks and snacks, haha, it can’t be better!

晚饭在这个区的比较中心的地方找了一家饭店，从雅典过来突然不太适应这里的价格了，哈哈，因为雅典的东西都太经济实惠了！

For dinner, we found a restaurant in the center of town near the water. I came from Athens and suddenly I am not used to the price here, haha, because everything in Athens was so much cheaper!

吃完完饭，回酒店的阳台上欣赏夜景，真是漆黑的大海，漆黑的天，分不清是天还是海，是海还是天，海浪拍打着岸边的礁石，夜晚使大海更神秘，让我陷入了有丝丝恐惧的神秘深邃的思绪中 ……. 不过，很快就被左边远处的蹦迪的音乐声打断，哈哈。

After dinner, we went back to our hotel balcony to enjoy the night view. It was a really a dark sea and a really dark sky -couldn’t tell whether it was the sky or the sea, or the sea or the sky. I fell into a mysterious and deep thought with a hint of fear … However, my thoughts were soon interrupted by the loud music of the disco on the far left, haha.

We can’t wait to enjoy Malta tomorrow and are planning to visit Valletta and Sliema.
