In November we’re heading back to South America for our third trip there, after the South America Teaser trip in 2022 and Lima, Peru in 2024 (despite PJM’s 2022 verdict that the first one might be our last). We fly from San Jose through Dallas and land in Buenos Aires on November 16 for eight nights in an apartment in Palermo.
Buenos Aires is a return visit. Last time we wandered the colorful Caminito in La Boca and the old streets of San Telmo, browsed the El Ateneo bookstore, and watched Argentina beat Mexico in a Palermo bar on their way to winning the World Cup. This time PJM will also meet a colleague and work for three days, and we’re hoping PJG sits out the Buenos Aires two-step. Back in 2022, PJG said Lima and Rio would be next on our list. Lima came in 2024, and now it’s Rio’s turn.
On November 24 we fly north to Puerto Iguazú to see Iguazú Falls from the Argentine side, staying two nights near the falls. Then we cross the border into Brazil and spend a night in Foz do Iguaçu, so we can see the falls from the Brazilian side as well.
From there we fly to Rio de Janeiro, our first time in Brazil, for nine nights in a flat in Ipanema, close to the beach.
We fly home through Miami on December 6.
