里斯本第四天 Lisbon Day 4

Saturday, May 30, 2022, Day 33 of the trip.

今天的天气真的是很完美，凉爽又没有太阳，还有阵阵的海风，给了我俩一个徒步的好机会。昨天吃的太多了，今天早上真的没吃早餐，出发徒步去距离民宿大概8公里的贝伦塔。沿途看到了很多蓝花楹，给里斯本增添很多浪漫的味道。

Today’s weather was perfect for a hike: a cool overcast day with occasional light gusts of sea breeze. We really had eaten too much yesterday and missed picking up our croissants last night, so we had no breakfast this morning.

We set off on foot to the Belém Tower, which is about five miles from the B&B. Along the way we saw many purple Jacarandas trees, adding more romance to Lisbon.

走了大概2公里，PJG提出了一个有意思的建议 – 租Bolt的电动滑板车！这种滑板车到处都是，而且有很多品牌，经常随处可见停在路边的就有Lime, Bird, Link等，当然Bolt也算其中之一。租的过程相当简洁，用Bolt的应用程序，扫码，选择付费方式，骑车走人。收费就是1分钟0.15欧元，但是有一个24小时9.9欧元的选项，而且可以在24小时内无限量地换车。

After walking for only about 30 minutes, PJG came up with another interesting suggestion – let’s rent electric scooters! These scooters are everywhere, and there are many brands. Lime, Bird, Link, etc. and are often parked on the sidewalks. Of course, Bolt is also one of them. The rental process was quite simple. Using the same Bolt app that we used for the taxi, you scan the QR code on the bike, choose the payment method, and ride away. The fee is 0.15 euros per minute, but there is an option for 9.9 euros giving you 24 hours of unlimited bikes or scooters. We weren’t sure about these scooters so we just went for the 0.15 euros per minute option.

这个电动滑板车非常容易上手，比学骑自行车简单多了，适应了一两分钟就基本可以自由地驾驶了，应用程序里有一个“新手”的选项，如果选择了，最快的速度只有15英里/小时。我适应了一段时间之后，切换掉了新手模式，时速能达到25英里/小时，当然某人早就开始了“风驰电掣”的模式。

This electric scooter is very easy to use, much simpler than learning to ride a bicycle. After a minute or two of getting acquainted, you are ready to ride freely. There is a “beginners” option in the app which limits the fastest speed to 15 mph. After I got used to it for a while, I switched off the novice mode, and the speed reached 25 mph. Of course, someone has already started the “speeding” mode.

在美国也经常见到这些电动滑板车，但是似乎没有这边这么普遍，也曾未想过要试一试。今天一试，还真的很好玩儿！又方便，又有速度，本来步行要1个半小时到达贝伦塔的，骑上了这个滑板车，剩下的6公里不到半个小时就完成了。唯一的问题就是，很多段路没有自行车道，只能在人行道上骑，而这里的人行道又很多是用碎石铺成的，骑上去有时候把五脏六腑都颠簸的很兴奋，哈哈。

Of course we’ve seen electric scooters in the US, but they seem to be much more common here, and I never really thought about trying them. We tried them today, and it was really fun, convenient and fast. It would take one and a half hours to walk to the Belém Tower. But after taking the scooter, the remaining 3 miles were completed in less than 20 minutes! The only problem is that many sections of the road do not have bicycle lanes, so you can only ride on the sidewalks, and many of the sidewalks here are tiled with rough stones and it is very bumpy, which makes for a thrilling ride, haha.

骑滑板车有趣的代价就是太方便自由，骑着骑着游逛完贝伦塔和纪念杯已经是下午2点多了，算了不吃饭了，骑回民宿休息，然后早一点儿吃晚饭。

After having so much fun on the scooters we splurged for a 24 hour pass giving us unlimited rides. It is already after 2pm in the afternoon and after riding around the Belém Tower and other statues we forgot about having lunch! So we rode back to the B&B to rest and plan to go out for an early dinner!

度过了有趣愉快的一天，早点睡觉，明天可以继续骑车！

We had a really fun and enjoyable day and went to bed early so we can continue riding tomorrow before our 24 hour pass is up!
