It had been raining all morning until at 10am when the rain suddenly stopped, replaced by a sunny blue sky. We took a long stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, Nice’s famous seaside promenade on the Mediterranean Riviera. The tide was high here, and the sound of the waves dragging the rocks back into the sea is very alluring.
This main street in Nice was originally built by the British, and then in 1860, Nice was incorporated into France.

The old town of Nice is a car free maze of pedestrian streets, narrow alleys, brightly colored houses, Baroque churches, vibrant bars, restaurants, shops, and bustling crowds, giving Nice a seductive atmosphere.
老城的一个入口看地中海 An entrance to the old town looking out at the Mediterranean Sea每天开到下午两点的市场 The famous Market open until 2pm every day (except Monday)新鲜的水果，蔬菜和各种食物 Fresh fruits, vegetables and various foods俯瞰市场 Overlooking the market老城里的很有特色的建筑 Unique colorful buildings in the old town小巷和巴塞罗那的感觉非常不同 小巷和巴塞罗那的感觉非常不同 The alleys here in Nice feel very different than the alleys in Barcelona.竟然有带着冲锋枪的军人在这里巡逻，最后那个有没有很帅！There are soldiers with submachine guns patrolling here, isn’t the last one very handsome!尼斯圣萊伯拉主教座堂– 一座巴洛克风格的罗马天主教主教座堂。在教堂里门前的饭店总是会让我惊叹。Nice Cathedral of St. Libera – a Roman Catholic cathedral in Baroque style. Having a restaurant in front of a church always amazes me.午饭的饭店就在市场里 The restaurant we ate at for lunch borders the market这个沙拉很好吃，有各种绿叶，西红柿，黄瓜，橄榄，吞拿鱼，沙丁鱼，鸡蛋 A classic Nicoise salad was delicious with assorted greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, tuna, sardines and egg终于又吃到好吃的披萨了！又薄又有嚼劲的披萨饼皮和丝丝甜意的西红柿酱，再撒上一些辣油，让我回忆起了2018年在柏林吃到的好吃的披萨。I Finally got a delicious pizza again! The thin, chewy pizza crust with a hint of sweet tomato sauce and a sprinkle of chili oil, instantly reminded me of the delicious pizza I had in Berlin in 2018.坐在盎格鲁街边上的一个酒吧看海浪，突然又下起雨来，一只鸽子也来凑热闹 Sitting at a bar on the side of the Promenade des Anglais watching the waves, when it suddenly began raining again – and a pigeon came to join in the fun夕阳西下的阿波罗雕像 Apollo’s statue at sunset晚餐 Wide angle view of dinner沙拉-没有什么味道 Artichoke Salad – not much flavor我的烤鱼，太可怜了，就一个大虾 My grilled fish, just a single lonely prawnPJG的意大利饺子，这个味道不错 PJG’s tortellini was delicious
The beauty of Nice really surprised me. The colorful houses, the 8km long Promenade des Anglais and the turbulent turquoise Mediterranean sea add endless charm to the city. If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, we plan to go to the country next door, Monaco, which is only 25 minutes from Nice.
