On the last day of April 2022, we ended our visit in France and flew to Greece! We had not expected to return to Greece after 6 months, a place I had fallen in love with. This time we are on a new island (new to me), PJG and his family had visited this island twice more than 50 years ago!
早上坐到马赛机场的巴士，非常方便，每10分钟一趟，票价每人10欧元，大概25分钟就到了机场. It was very convenient to take the bus to the Marseille Airport in the morning, leaving every 10 minutes, the fare is 10 euros per person, and it takes about 25 minutes to get to the airport.我们这种没有单独付快速登机的费用的人，在后门上飞机，其实更快，哈哈. For people like us who don’t pay for “express boarding” separately, it was actually faster to get on the plane through the back door … haha再见马赛. goodbye marseille
This time we will spend a week in Corfu. Corfu is bigger than the islands of Mykonos, Santorini and Paros that we had visited in October last year. PJG arranged to rent a car here. Makes it easier to get around the big island and the prices here are quite reasonable, around 400 euros for the week, including a full tank of fuel.
机场内租车办理的地方，非常方便. The place to rent a car in the airport is very convenient and not crowded.我俩租的车，很详细地用照片记录了车上所有现有的划痕，以免像上次在德国租车的时候出的问题. We rented the car, and carefully photographed all the existing scratches on the car in great detail to avoid problems like the last time we rented a car in Germany!帅哥开车，还是手动挡的 😀 A handsome guy drives the manual transmission 😀 And we are using our google maps to navigate.PJG是会员的酒店，非常高档，而且因为PJG的会员等级，我俩的房间被升级了, 哈哈，太享受了，而且最好的是PJG用了以前积攒的积分，这一周的酒店是相当于免费的！ We are staying at the Domes Miramare in Moraitaki. PJG is a member of the hotel chain, very upscale, and because of his high membership level, our room was upgraded, haha, we are enjoying it so much! And the best thing is that PJG used the points he had accumulated previously, so the entire week’s hotel is basically free!入住时酒店给的饮料，他们想提供貌似高级的贵宾服务，让我俩坐在沙发上进行入住，但其实这样花了更长的时间，真的是浪费我俩的时间. The reception provided drinks during the check-in process, they wanted to impress us with seemingly high-end service and let us sit on the sofa for check-in, but in fact, it took much longer than normal and was really just a waste of our time.酒店员工带我俩去我俩的房间，非常没有必要的服务 The hotel staff is taking us to our room, very well-intentioned but unnecessary service
We didn’t check-in and get settled until after 4 pm. We went to a restaurant in the small town nearby to get a beer. Their kitchen was not ready, so they couldn’t provide food, so we went to a nearby small supermarket to buy some snacks, because we never had a lunch today. Unexpectedly, the owner of the supermarket is super friendly and enthusiastic. Seeing that I bought two bags of potato chips and a small bag of peanuts, he even gave me a bottle of water and some shelled peanuts for free, saying that I am welcome here! That’s why I love Greece so much, the people here are very, very friendly and welcoming!
久违的希腊猫咪们. Long time no see these infamous greek cats晚饭去了一家属于网红饭店，非常美的环境，距离我俩的酒店只有大概8分钟的步行距离，现在是旅游淡季，而且我俩去的太早了，我俩是唯一的顾客. For dinner, we went to The Village Taverna in Moraitika that is famous on the internet. It has a very beautiful environment and is only about an 8-minute walk from our hotel. We actually drove there the first time to find it, but the small alleys made it impossible to see by car! It is the off-season for tourism, and we went too early. We were the only customers for the first hour.西葫芦丸子 Fried Zucchini balls西红柿洋葱芝士面包片，很好吃 A Tomato Onion Cheese toast thingy，very delicious. 我俩的科孚岛的本土菜炖牛肉(Sofrito) 和PJG的炖鸡肉，都非常好吃，感觉像是外婆做的东西，和法国比起来，价格更亲民多了。这里的服务员的英语非常棒，一问她竟然是大学里的英语加数学老师，饭店的菜单是她的外婆流传下来的。我俩估计会每晚都来这里啦，哈哈. Both of us ordered Corfu local dishes, I had Sofrito (a beef stew basically) and PJG’s ordered a stewed chicken, both were very delicious. It feels like something made by a grandmother. Compared with France, the price here is much more reasonable. The waiter’s English was very good and it turned out she was an English and math teacher at the university. 在科孚岛的放松的慢游就这样开始了，坐在阳台上，喝一杯红酒，听着海水轻轻的拍打海滩的声音，惬意惬意。
This is the beginning of our relaxing slow trip in Corfu. Before bed we’re sitting on our balcony listening to the sound of the sea gently lapping at the beach and sipping a glass a wine.
The hotel lobby looks very nice. I like the orange tabby who looks very comfy sleeping in the grass. The Village Taverna looks very pretty and fortunately for you a good place to eat. It sounds like you will have a very relaxing week in Corfu!
