Saturday, May 14, 2022. Day 26 of the trip.
今天又是一个太阳毒辣的一天，上午沿着地中海的海岸线从酒店出发徒步了一个多小时，大概6公里。其实马耳他有一条 155 公里的步行路线，可以环游整个岛屿，这条路线很安全、可以欣赏地中海的美丽景色和沿途的各种天际线。 早上10点多太阳已经非常大，感觉就在头顶上，没有树荫，所以走了大概6公里就被打败了，但是已经到了斯利马市和午饭时间。
Today was another hot sunny day. In the morning, we walked three miles along the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea from the hotel.
Malta actually has a 100 mile hiking trail that goes around the entire island. At 10am, the sun was already very strong, it was directly overhead and so there was no shade. The sun had worn us down out when we finally arrived in Sliema city – just in time for lunch!
吃了午饭，坐公交车去了那三姐妹城的其中一个比尔古，也是马耳他其中的一个古城。去那里需要转车一次，通过这个经历才知道公交车的一张车票，可以在2个小时内任意转乘，上车打卡后，如果乘坐的第二辆车是在2个小时内，打卡的时候，读卡系统会说可以转车。
After lunch, we took the bus to Birgu, one of the three ancient sister cities in Malta. We needed to transfer busses in Valletta but only one ticket is required if you transfer within 2 hours.
比尔古最著名的地标就是圣安吉洛堡，它曾经的战略地位不容小觑，“在过去的一千年里，无论谁控制了圣安吉洛堡，都可以有效地统治马耳他群岛。”来自于马耳他古堡的网站。权利的游戏的第一季第五集有一段也是在这里拍摄的。进古堡需要每人10欧元的门票，考虑到我俩的疲倦，有限的时间，和那个大大的太阳，我俩只在古堡周围逛了逛。
Birgu’s most famous landmark is the Fort San Angelo, whose once strategic position claimed, “for the past thousand years, whoever controlled Fort San Angelo could effectively rule the Maltese Islands.” Entering the castle required a 10 euros ticket. Considering how tired we were, limited time, and the hot sun, we only strolled around the outside of the fortress.
在返回酒店途中，PJG 发现了这里竟然有小船直达瓦拉塔！每人2欧元，行程只要5分钟，比坐公交快多了，我不得不承认，坐这个摇摇晃晃的小船很有意思，完全是今天的亮点！
On our way back, PJG iscovered that there is a little boat going directly to Vallarta across the bay! It was 2 euros each and the crossing only took 5 minutes, which is way faster than the bus! I have to admit that it was very interesting to ride this tiny rickety boat, and it was the highlight of my day!
到了瓦莱塔的岸边，要去上巴拉卡花园那里坐公交车回酒店，最快捷的就是坐那个电梯，当然不是免费的！每人1欧元。到了上面看到昨天观看礼炮的阳台被封了起来，为一个婚礼坐准备，好像在这里举办婚礼还挺流行的。
When we arrived at the shore of Valletta, we need to take the bus near the Upper Barrrakka Gardens. The fastest way to get up to the Garden is to take the elevator, of course, its not free! 1 euro each, but well worth it! When we got back up to the balcony where we saw the gun salute yesterday, the area was closed off for a wedding ceremony. Apparently, it is quite popular to hold weddings here.

看来马耳他这两天挺热呀，坐上小船倒可以吹吹风。

Perhaps visiting Malta in the winter would make hiking around the island more inviting (because of the no shade). The buildings are all very interesting. I think you were very brave to take the little boat ride but because it was only a 5-minute ride I think I would have gone too!
If I came here again, I would definitely pick the earlier months, perhaps March.
