感恩节后的清晨4点半起床，简单收拾了最后的行囊，5点半，Uber停在门口，车窗外的城市灯光朦胧得像未醒的梦。旧金山机场的冷风一吹，彻底把睡意驱散了。4个小时后，休斯顿机场的阳光落在脸上。又是6个小时，机翼划过云层，横跨南美洲，终于在深夜顺利抵达秘鲁首都利马。

On the morning after Thanksgiving, we woke up at 4:30 and quickly packed the last of our belongings. By 5:30, an Uber was waiting at the door, and the city lights outside the car window shimmered faintly, like a dream not yet awakened.

The cold breeze at San Francisco Airport blew away the last traces of sleep. Four hours later, the sunlight at Houston Airport warmed our faces. Another six hours of flight, crossing the South American skies, and we finally arrived late at night in Lima, the capital of Peru.

入境非常简单，没有采集指纹，也没有拍照片，海关工作人员简单地问了在这里呆几天，是否去其他地方便顺利通过。民宿的主人帮我俩安排了接机服务，司机举着写有PJG名字的牌子在出口等候。我俩出关的速度太快，司机比我俩晚到了几分钟。这种安排让我们深夜12点的到达显得些许轻松。

Immigration was surprisingly easy – no fingerprints, no photos. The customs officer simply asked how many days we were staying and if we planned to visit other places, then waved us through. Our Airbnb host had arranged an airport pickup for us, with the driver holding a sign bearing PJG’s real name at the exit. We cleared customs so quickly that we ended up waiting a few minutes for the driver to arrive. However, this thoughtful arrangement made our midnight arrival feel much more relaxed.

大约40多分钟的车程，没想到这么晚利马依然繁华热闹。快到民宿时，甚至还遇上了堵车。凌晨1点半，我们终于到了位于17楼的民宿，从窗外可以俯瞰城市的灯火，灯火背后，那神秘的南太平洋隐没在浓浓的黑色雾霭中。放下行李，稍作整理后，我们在楼下的小酒吧点了两杯啤酒消除旅途疲惫。凌晨3点多，回到民宿休息，尽管楼下的车辆和鸣笛声偶尔传入耳中，但我们还是很快进入了梦乡。

The drive took about 40 minutes, and to our surprise, Lima was still bustling and lively even at such a late hour. As we neared the Airbnb, we even encountered a traffic jam. At 1:30 a.m., we finally arrived at the 17th-floor apartment. From the window, we could overlook the glittering city lights, with the mysterious South Pacific hidden behind a thick veil of black mist. After dropping off our luggage and freshening up, we headed to a small bar downstairs and ordered two beers to unwind from the journey. By 3 a.m., we returned to the apartment. Despite the occasional sounds of cars and honking from below, we quickly drifted off into a deep sleep.
