After Zhaoyang’s trip to China and meeting up in Honolulu, we decided that the next trip will be to Mexico! We had been to Ensenada when Zhaoyang first arrived in the US, but she hated Mexican food, so it seemed we would never go back. But something changed, perhaps after South America, and she really started to enjoy the flavors and diversity of mexican food!
We were somewhat apprehensive at first regarding the safety of Mexico, but after watching a bunch of Youtube videos, we quickly realized it would be perfectly safe! Especially in the district where we planned to stay.
We had a huge delicious Thanksgiving dinner with Matthew, Megan and Justin and then left on Friday November 24th and returned on Sunday December 3rd. We stayed in the La Roma district (more precisely Colonial Roma) which was a very vibrant area with many cafes and restaurants.
Although we had an “incident” on our last day in Mexico, we had a wonderful time in Mexico City and plan to come back to Mexico at some point.
