重返智利 Returning to Chile

2022年12月1日，星期四，南美洲之旅第十五天 – Day 15 of our South America Trip

早上4点半起床，快速收拾完行李，5点半预订的出租车就在楼下等好了，今天我俩要重返智利，去距离圣地亚哥大约120多公里的一个海滨小城-比尼亚德尔马。PJG还是没有痊愈，早上还有些低烧，可怜的人只能带病旅游了。一小时五十多分钟的飞行就到了圣地亚哥，在机场坐Turbus公司的大巴， 十多分钟先到了pajaritos站，再转乘到比尼亚德尔马的大巴，一个小时四十多分钟的车程顺利地到达了目的地。

We got up at 4:30 in the morning, quickly finished packing, and our 5:30 taxi was waiting downstairs. Today we fly back to Santiago, and then take a bus to Viña del Mar, a seaside town about 120 kilometers away from Santiago. PJG still isn’t better, and he still had a low fever in the morning. The poor man

has no choice but to travel with his illness. It took us about two hours to fly to Santiago. Then we found the Turbus bus at the airport. We first had to transfer at Pajaritos terminal about ten minutes ride, and then took a big bus to Viña del Mar. The one-hour and forty-minute ride went smoothly and we reached our destination safely.

这次到达智利没有狗，要过机器，我的包被打开检查，机器以为我带了香蕉，那个海关人员翻开我的包，没有找到香蕉，她看了看我的鱼片，估计是不知道是什么，又发回去了，哈哈 – When we arrived in Chile this time, there were no dogs. The bags had to go through a machine. My bag was opened for inspection. The machine thought I had brought bananas. The customs officer opened my bag and found no bananas. She looked at my smelly dried fish and realized it was not a banana. Luckily, she didn’t ask what it was, haha

第二辆大巴上，这个小商贩竟然途中上来卖东西，让我想起了小时坐火车，站台下卖东西的，发展中国家的很多行为都很相似 – On the second bus, a small vendor came up to sell things on the way. It reminded me of those who sold things under the platform on the train when I was a child. Many behaviors in developing countries are very similar.

到了比尼亚德尔马后，本来打算坐Uber去民宿，可是很奇怪的是电话卡竟然没有信号，汽车站又没有Wifi，所以没有网络，用不了Uber的程序打车，在路旁等了一会儿也没有空的出租车，只好坐了车站里在那等着拉人的出租车，当然是付了高价的，大概10分钟的车程，竟然要5,000比索，大概5.6美元。我俩以为这个在圣地亚哥买的卡不能在这里用，这当然不合理，但是在南美洲这个神奇的地方，什么不合理的事情都是合理的。当出租车开出了车站周围，手机就正常地有了信号！

After arriving in Viña del Mar, we planned to take an Uber to the apartment, but it was strange that there was no signal on the phone card, and there was no Wi-Fi at the bus station, so there was no Internet, so we couldn’t use the Uber app! Anyway, we took a regular taxi, but of course, we paid a high price. It was about a 10 minute drive, and cost 5,000 pesos, about 5.60 US dollars. We both thought that the card bought in Santiago could not be used here, which is of course reasonable, but in this magical place of South America, anything unreasonable is reasonable. However, when the taxi drove out of the vicinity of the terminal, the mobile phone signal started working again!

安顿好后，去附近的一个饭店，来了一杯啤酒，PJG虽然还没彻底恢复，他太馋啤酒了，这5天他都没吃什么东西，怕肚子有问题，他只喝了半杯 – After settling in, we went to a nearby restaurant and had a well deserved beer. Although PJG hadn’t fully recovered, he was too hungry for beer to wait. He didn’t eat anything in the past 5 days and was wary of his stomach problems, so he only drank half a glass.

医生告诉PJG基本可以正常吃饭，吃一些意大利面啊，米饭啊，瘦的肉，都没问题，这是一家意大利菜 – The doctor told PJG that he could start to eat normally, some pasta, rice, lean meat, etc .. so we came to this Italian restaurant, Don Vita Zanoni
沙拉，从来没见过这么丰富的蔬菜，可惜沙拉酱就是橄榄油和意大利黑醋 – Our salad, I have never seen such a rich variety of vegetables, but the salad dressing was just olive oil and balsamic vinegar
PJG这5天来的第一顿饭，意大利千层面，他只吃了一点儿，先让肚子适应一下，服务员来收走盘子的时候，看到剩了那么多，还问是不是因为不好吃，哈哈 – The first real meal PJG has had in the past 5 days, lasagna! But he only ate a little to let his stomach get used to it first. When the waiter came to take away the plate, he saw so much left, and asked if it was because it was not good. haha, it was good!

没想到比尼亚德尔马的天气很凉爽，现在的最高气温只有19度左右，要比我在布宜诺斯艾利斯顶着太阳的日子舒服多了，吃完晚饭去海滩站了站，吹了吹海风。今天起的太早，困了，回民宿睡觉，打开了房间里的暖气，夏天用暖气，奇怪的舒服。

Surprisingly, the weather in Viña del Mar is very cool. The current maximum temperature is only about 19 degrees (66), which is much more comfortable than the days when I was baking in Buenos Aires. After dinner, we went to the beach and watched the waves. The sea breeze blew. We had woke up too early today, I was sleepy, so we went back to the apartment to sleep. We had to turn on the heater in the room, it is strangely comfortable to use the heater in summer.

A long traveling day today made for a nice comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to exploring the town of Valparaiso tomorrow!

漫长的一天，希望能睡个好觉， 期待明天探索瓦尔帕莱索！

  2. Another post missed!! I knew I was having trouble with seeing posts on my iphone but never realized until now how much trouble.
    Smelly dried fish looked like a banana!! haha!!
    The mobile phone signal was probably blocked by the taxi company!!
    Your salad at Don Vita Zanoni looked very pretty.
