Today will be a very easy day, moving to the Hollywood district of Palermo. The “Hollywood” district is so named for its television studios and film production companies. We will stay here in Buenos Aires for another five nights. So far, this is the area we like more, it is quieter, there are many outdoor restaurants and bars, and there are many places with Asian dishes. We took a bus to the apartment, and walked around the neighborhood to get familiar. In the afternoon, we also went to the Palermo Soho area separated by a large road. At 4 o’clock, we went to a bar to watch the epic battle between Argentina and Mexico. It was a great game to watch. Argentineans are happy!
在Marriot酒店吃的最后一顿早饭 – Our last breakfast at the Marriott民宿附近的一个小露天市场 – A small open-air market near the apartment安静的林荫道 – A quiet boulevard午饭是一家新式越南菜，饭店刚开门，我俩去的时候还没什么人 – We had lunch at this Vietnamese fusion place. The restaurant just opened at noon, and there was no one there yet.我的脆皮猪肉饭，超好吃，应该是这次南美洲之旅吃到的最好吃的饭了 – My crispy pork rice was super delicious, I think it’s the best meal I have eaten in this trip to South America!PJG经常吃的凉拌版越南米粉，这个也很好吃，跟美国版的有些区别 – The Vietnamese vermicelli noodles that PJG often eats was also delicious, and it is somewhat different from the American version.著名的巴勒莫区的中心 – Center of the famous Palermo Soho district好多摊贩卖各种手工制品 – Many vendors selling various handmade products好多酒吧都在放世界杯 – Many bars are showing the World Cup民宿附近的几个酒吧看世界杯的都是人满为患，我俩找到了一个人很少的酒吧，看屏幕就知道为什么这里没人了吧 – The few bars near the apartment were overcrowded with people watching the World Cup. We found a bar with few people. You can see why there is no one here by looking at the pole blocking the screen.晚饭是民宿对面的一家越南菜叫绿色竹子 – Dinner is a Vietnamese restaurant opposite the apartment called Green Bamboo两杯鸡尾酒 – Two cocktails虾蔬菜春卷 – Shrimp and Vegetable Spring Rolls煎馄饨 – Fried wontons我的炒猪肉，很奇怪的味道，我不喜欢，给PJG吃了，哈哈 – My fried pork had a very strange taste, I didn’t like it, so I gave it to PJG to eat … lol鸡肉咖喱，这个还好，不过那个虾片似的东西一点儿也不脆 – Chicken curry, this one is ok, but the prawn cracker is not crispy at all (looks like Amazon packing material)在我俩民宿的小阳台上看到的夜景 – The night view seen from the balcony of our apartment
We’re running out of cash, the prices in this area are much higher than near the Marriott hotel, we have to exchange money tomorrow morning. It’s hard to imagine how the local residents deal with such high inflation. They have to buy a lot of daily necessities immediately after receiving their wages!
