Mykonos Day 4

It was another relaxing day. The wind started to blow here last night. Today there is also a very strong wind, which can reach 28 mph. This happens to be the best time to watch the sea tide ebb and flow and to recall days gone past and loved ones from another time.

Passing through the winding alleys, we went to “Little Venice” to see the sea again. We sat there and listened to the sound of the sea beating against the shore. We also visited some small shops selling souvenirs and took many more photos of the alleys. We will go to Santorini tomorrow morning. We have really enjoyed all the picturesque spots we encountered around every corner of streets of Mykonos. I hope I will have the opportunity to visit here again in the future, maybe with my sister and mother.

(Last night’s Sunset)
(Little Venice, a relatively small wave was perfectly captured. This place is called Little Venice because the houses are built directly on the sea and are reminiscent of the buildings in Venice.)
(A small church, there’s a story here too but I’m too lazy to tell it)
(The roof of the chapel, you can see the houses in Mykonos town center in the distance)
(Those ubiquitous windmills again)
(Unsigned/unnamed statue, maybe a founder of the church?)
(A lush cactus among the rare plants here)
(How happy the residents must be here; they can see such beautiful scenery every day)
(Another small church)
(Souvenir shop)
(It’s another small souvenir shop)
(We had lunch at this kebab place, I will have a separate post about the food :))
(A beautiful corner)
(The name of this little shop is “The Notorious Mykonos”, haha)
(Another small church, it is said that there are 600-800 churches/chapels on Mykonos Island, but there are about 60 churches/chapels in just this town. Many churches on the island date back to the Byzantine era before the 19th century and have been listed as historical monuments by the Greek Ministry of Culture. As part of the customs of the Mykonos, some small churches were built on the island to place the bones of deceased family members in the temple.)
